On U-Line 1000 Series beverage centers such as the 1215BEV and 2000 Series units such as the 2224DWR, E2 means Thermistor 2 is open. The control is not receiving a signal from that second temperature sensor. You see E2 on the display while the unit keeps working without that reading, so temperature control is less precise until the sensor circuit is repaired.
1. Turn the unit off, wait a minute and turn it on again. 2. Keep bottles clear of the rear wall so air can move. 3. Compare the displayed temperature with a kitchen thermometer. 4. Leave panels and wiring alone. 5. If E2 returns, call us for testing.
On the 1000 Series 1215BEV and the 2000 Series 2224DWR, E2 means Thermistor 2 open. The Class Series uses the same meaning, so the code reads consistently across these lines.
It is the second temperature sensor the control monitors. Open means the control receives nothing back from it. The paired code, E6, reports the same sensor as shorted.
The cabinet keeps cooling, but the control lacks one reading. Watch the temperature for a day. If drinks warm or ice forms inside, switch the unit off and book a visit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
