On U-Line dual-zone beverage centers such as the UHWC524 and the 2224DWR, E0 reports that Door 1, the upper door, is open. The unit has not detected the upper door in its closed position. You see E0 on the display, and the door alert tone joins it if the door stays open past five minutes. The lower door reports separately, so E0 tells you which side to check.
1. Open and close the upper door firmly. 2. Check that nothing sticks out past the front of the upper shelves. 3. Wipe the upper gasket and look for a fold along its length. 4. Check that the cabinet is level. 5. If E0 stays up with the upper door shut, call us.
E0 refers to Door 1, the upper door, on dual-zone U-Line beverage centers. The lower door has its own code, E9, so you can tell right away which side needs closing.
The usual cause is a bottle touching the inside of the upper door. Take out whatever sits near the front edge and close the door, and the code clears. If it does not, we check the switch.
The cooling keeps running, but a door that is truly open lets cold air out. If the door is closed and E0 stays on, the readout is wrong and we should check the switch.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
