On U-Line Class Series and 2000 Series dual-zone beverage centers, including the UHWC524 and the 2224DWR, E9 says Door 2, the lower door, is open. The unit has not registered the lower door as closed. The display shows E9, and the open-door alert tone follows if the door is left that way for more than five minutes. The upper door reports separately under E0.
1. Push the lower door shut and hold it for a moment. 2. Slide lower-zone bottles and crates back from the door edge. 3. Clean the lower gasket and check it for folds. 4. Look at the front feet to be sure the cabinet is level. 5. If E9 persists on a closed door, call us.
E0 reports Door 1, the upper door, and E9 reports Door 2, the lower door. Knowing which code shows tells you which door to check first on a dual-zone model.
E9 describes the lower door on dual-zone models such as the UHWC524. A single-door cabinet has no second door to report, so the lower-door code applies only to units with two doors.
Close the lower door fully and free it from anything blocking the edge. The code drops away once the door is detected as closed. If it stays, we test the lower door switch.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
