Soft nugget ice is a favorite at outdoor bars, and the ONB115 puts it on the patio. The auger, however, does not care that the cabinet is weather-rated: it works against the mineral content of whatever water you feed it, and outdoor lines carry water that has never seen a filter.
We therefore check the auger load and the freezing cylinder before anything else. A cylinder with scale pulls more current from the drive motor and turns out fewer nuggets. Then we move to the condenser, which collects pollen, leaf bits and grass clippings from a yard. Once the fins fill up, the compressor runs hotter and the ice slows in summer.
