On U-Line Echelon 2000 refrigerators with the 2010 control, such as the 2175DWRR and the CLRCO2175, E9 means thermistor 4, the condenser sensor, is open or shorted. If the condenser thermistor fails, the unit stops all functions and shows ER. The code is not available on the R models, the WC models or the CLR2160. Expect no cooling until the sensor is replaced and the unit restarts.
1. Check whether the unit is cooling or has stopped completely. 2. Unplug for one minute, then restore power. 3. Move perishables to another cooler if the unit stays off. 4. Vacuum the front grille with the unit unplugged. 5. If E9 or ER returns, call us.
When the condenser thermistor fails, the unit stops all functions and shows ER. Reading the control in diagnostic mode confirms E9 behind the ER. ER is the face of E9 on the display.
The unit has stopped cooling, so protect the food right away. Move perishables to a cooler, then call us. Time matters because the cabinet warms while stopped.
We test the condenser thermistor, replace it when it is open or shorted, restart the unit and confirm the code is gone. Price in writing first, 30-day warranty. The part is on the truck for most visits.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
