On U-Line Origins 1000 refrigerators, such as the 1115WC, the 1175WC and the 1175BEV, E6 means the actual cabinet temperature sat 10 degrees under the set point for more than 6 hours. The cabinet is running much colder than requested, so food and bottles can freeze. On Echelon 2000 the same code uses a 12-hour window. The unit keeps running while the code shows, which is why items near the back wall freeze first.
1. Raise the set point a few degrees. 2. Move food and bottles away from the back wall. 3. Unplug the unit for one minute and plug it back in. 4. If E6 returns, call us and protect items that can freeze.
E6 means the cabinet stayed 10 degrees under the set point for over 6 hours. The cooling is not shutting off at the set point, so items near the back wall freeze first.
It shows whether the control responds. If the cabinet stays too cold at a higher set point, the control needs testing, so call us. Call us if it repeats.
Unplugging for a day is fine if food is moved. Otherwise restore power after a minute and call us. We quote the price in writing first. A restart clears nothing if the control keeps cooling.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
