On U-Line 1000 Series beverage centers like the 1215BEV and 2000 Series models like the 2224DWR, E6 is posted when Thermistor 2 reads shorted. The second temperature sensor is passing a signal the control treats as a direct short, which is not a real temperature. E6 stays on the display while the control manages without that sensor. Should the sensor read open instead, you would see E2.
1. Turn the unit off, wait one minute and switch it on again. 2. Keep spills and condensation away from the rear of the cabinet. 3. Check the interior with a thermometer. 4. Do not open covers. 5. If E6 returns, call us.
Thermistor 2 is shorted when E6 shows. It pairs with E2, which reports the same sensor open. E2 and E6 together tell a technician which way the circuit failed.
Some do, but for the 1000 Series 1215BEV and 2000 Series 2224DWR the meaning is Thermistor 2 shorted. We follow the table for your model series.
You can keep it running while you watch the temperature on a thermometer. If the reading drifts or frost forms, switch the unit off and call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
