On U-Line ice machines such as the UONB115 and UHNP315, E7 means Thermistor 3 is shorted. The control reads the third temperature sensor as a direct short, so the value is not a real temperature. The UCLR1215 clear ice machine does not use E7. The display shows E7 and ice production drops. The matching open reading for this sensor is E3, so a technician reads the pair together.
1. Switch the machine off, wait a minute and restart it. 2. Check for moisture around the cabinet. 3. Confirm the bin door is closed. 4. Do not remove panels. 5. When E7 returns, we test the circuit, so call us. 6. Keep boxes away from the cabinet so air can circulate.
U-Line ice machines such as the UONB115 and UHNP315 use E7. The clear ice UCLR1215 does not, because it carries fewer sensors in its table.
E7 is Thermistor 3 shorted, the counterpart to E3, which reports the same sensor open. Either way the third temperature reading is lost to the control.
It is not a safety issue. If ice output falls or stops, book a visit soon so the sensor circuit can be tested and the machine can return to normal output.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
