U-Line SS1095 Crescent Ice Repair

An SS1095 has been under the same counter for a long time, and it shows in how it harvests. Crescent ice depends on a mold that freezes and then warms just enough to release the cubes. When scale builds on that mold, the release gets uneven, and some cycles end with ice stuck in place.
Age also wears the water valve. A valve that no longer closes fully lets water creep into the mold, while one that opens weakly starves it. We test both behaviors with the cabinet running, then follow the bin-full switch through its travel, since a switch that sticks tells the machine to quit while the bin is half empty.
The stainless finish rarely needs attention, but the door and lid hardware get a look as well. We state the repair price before starting.
Scale roughens the mold, so cubes cling during the harvest. We descale the mold, check the water level in the cycle, and confirm the harvest heat works so the cubes release cleanly.
We measure the flow into the mold and watch for creeping water when the cycle ends. A valve that leaks by or opens slowly is replaced as a unit, and we explain the price first.
The bin-full switch is sticking, so it reports a full bin too early. We free the arm, test the switch with a meter, and replace it if it no longer opens and closes cleanly.
