U-Line 2224R Echelon Undercounter Repair

The 2224R is a common 24-inch Echelon refrigerator, sold in a stainless RS build and an integrated RINT build for panels. Both versions have the same cooling system, so the repair path starts the same way: listen to how the compressor starts, and read the temperature against a thermometer.
A hard start, with a click and a hum, comes from tired start parts. These wear from thousands of cycles and are inexpensive to replace if caught before the compressor overheats. A cabinet that freezes the lettuce is the sensor talking: it reads warmer than it is, so the compressor runs too long.
The gasket at the hinge corner dries and cracks first, since that corner flexes the most. We press a paper strip around the door to find leaks. You get a written price before any part is replaced.
Not necessarily. Worn start parts cause the same sound. We test the relay, capacitor and windings first, so you do not pay for a compressor when the cheaper start parts are the answer.
The temperature sensor is reading incorrectly, so the compressor keeps running. We compare it with a thermometer, test its resistance, and replace it if it no longer matches.
At the hinge corner, where it bends most. We replace the whole gasket for an even seal and check that the door closes against it with a paper strip test.
