U-Line 2224DWR Refrigerated Drawers Repair

Drawer refrigerators ask more of their hardware than door models. In a 2224DWR, each drawer slides in and out on glides that carry the weight of everything stored, and a drawer front that loses its alignment shows it first as an uneven reveal around the panel.
The seal is what the glides protect. If a drawer stops a hair short, the gasket never seats, and warm air flows in along the front edge. We pull each drawer, check the glides and the mounting, and test the seal in several spots.
Temperature between the two drawers deserves a measurement of its own. The lower drawer holds cold air better than the upper, and a wide gap points to a seal or airflow problem rather than the Echelon control. A written price follows our findings.
The mounting or glides have shifted under load. We re-seat the drawer front, check the glides for wear, and adjust it so the gaps are even and the seal closes.
A few degrees is normal because cold air settles. A larger gap means leakage or poor airflow. We measure both drawers and trace the cause.
In most installs the drawers come out from the front. We remove the drawers, replace the worn glides, and test closing before we return the cabinet to service.
