U-Line Origins 1000 Code E3: Door open longer than 20 minutes

What E3 means

On U-Line Origins 1000 refrigerators, such as the 1115R, the 1175R and the 1175WC, E3 means the door has been open for longer than 20 minutes. It is an alert about the door, not about a failed part. Closing the door fully clears it. The same E3 on Echelon 2000 models covers the main door or the bottom drawer. The alert appears on the display until the door closes.

Why is my Origins 1000 showing E3?

The door stayed open for more than 20 minutes, and the control raised E3. Closing the door ends the alert. It clears the moment the door is shut.

E3 stays after I close the door. Why?
