Harsh cleaners and hot water can cloud shelves, dull finishes and leave odors behind. A gentle routine keeps your U-Line undercounter refrigerator fresh and protects its interior parts.
A bar or game room refrigerator collects spills, sticky rings from cans and the occasional forgotten lime. A regular cleaning keeps odors away and helps the door seal stay supple. The method matters as much as the schedule.
Turn the temperature control off or unplug the unit, then move food and drinks into a cooler. Take out the shelves and any removable bins. Let glass shelves come up to room temperature before washing so they do not crack from a sudden change.
For odors, a mix of baking soda and water works well and leaves nothing behind. Avoid bleach, ammonia, abrasive pads and strong solvent cleaners. They can cloud plastic, strip finishes and leave smells that linger for weeks.
Wipe the door and handle with a soft cloth. Stainless panels should be cleaned along the grain. Then check the front grille. A light vacuuming with a brush attachment every few months is a good habit.
When you finish, plug the unit back in, let it cool for a few hours and then reload it. If the interior smells musty after cleaning, the seal is torn, or you find water pooling after the unit settles, something else needs attention.
We can inspect the seal, drain area and cooling parts during a visit. Schedule a U-Line refrigerator visit and we will quote the work in writing before we begin, with a 30-day workmanship warranty on the repair. See whether your area is covered on our service area page.
