On U-Line Origins 1000 refrigerators, such as the 1115R and the 1175BEV, E4 is a count of the defrost intervals in which the compressor ran 100 percent of the time. The control records how the cabinet never reached its set point between defrosts. E4 differs from Echelon 2000, where it is a log-only entry. The number tells a technician how hard the cooling system has worked.
1. Check the clearance around the unit. 2. With the unit unplugged, vacuum the front grille. 3. Make sure the door seals around its edge. 4. Avoid loading a lot of warm items at once. 5. If cooling stays weak or E4 repeats, call us.
E4 counts the defrost intervals where the compressor ran nonstop. A higher count means the cabinet struggled to reach its set point more frequently. The count builds over time.
No. It tells us the compressor never got a rest, and the cause can be a dirty condenser, bad seals or a weak refrigeration system. We test each in order. We start with the easy checks.
Clean the front grille, give the cabinet room to breathe and check the door seal. If E4 returns, call us. We give a written price before any repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
