What E11 means

On U-Line nugget ice machines such as the UONB115 and UHNB315, the display shows 11 for a high water level in the reservoir. You will not see an E in front of it. The machine is not producing enough ice to empty the reservoir, so the water level stays above where it belongs. Ice output slows while the level stays high, and the display holds 11 until the level comes down.

Common causes of E11

  • Ice is not being produced fast enough to lower the reservoir
  • The water level sensing reads high
  • The reservoir fill is running past its mark
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Switch the machine off for ten minutes, then restart it. 2. Check that nothing blocks the ice chute or the bin. 3. Look along the water line for kinks. 4. Do not open panels. 5. If 11 reappears, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • High water in the reservoir can come from the ice path or from the level sensing, and testing separates them
  • Guessing at a part leaves the real cause in place
  • We quote first and offer a 30-day workmanship warranty
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E11E11 questions
Why does the panel say 11 and not E11?

The panel shows the number without the letter. It still reports the same condition: the reservoir water level is high. It reports the same condition as the E-numbered code.

What does 11 mean in practice?

The machine is not making enough ice to use up the water in the reservoir. The level stays high, which shows up as slow or reduced ice output.

What about 12?

12 is the opposite condition, a low water level, where not enough water is reaching the reservoir. Seeing 11 or 12 tells you whether to think about too much water or too little.
