On the U-Line 1000 Series 1215BEV beverage center, E7 reports that Thermistor 3 is shorted. The third temperature sensor is passing a signal the control reads as a direct short, so it cannot trust that reading. You see E7 on the display, and the cabinet keeps running on its other inputs until the sensor circuit is repaired. The open version of this reading is E3.
1. Shut the unit off for one minute, then turn it on again. 2. Check the rear of the cabinet for spills or condensation. 3. Compare the display with a separate thermometer. 4. Do not remove any panel. 5. If E7 comes back, call us.
Thermistor 3 reads shorted under E7, and E7 is the shorted partner of E3, which reports the same sensor open. The code comes from the 1215BEV table, so we treat it as that model's third-sensor shorted reading.
The 1000 Series table covers E0 for door 1, E1 to E3 for open sensors, E5 to E7 for shorted sensors and E9 for door 2.
If the temperature holds steady on your thermometer, you can book a visit in the next few days. If drinks warm or freeze, call right away and describe what the cabinet is doing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
