The shorted reading for Thermistor 2 is E6 on U-Line 1000 Series and 2000 Series wine coolers. The second temperature sensor reads as a short, so the control cannot rely on it. The display shows E6. Some older listings gave E6 another meaning, but on these series it is a sensor reading, and the open reading for this sensor is E2.
1. Remove power for a minute and restore it. 2. Compare the display with a separate thermometer. 3. Wipe away moisture behind the cooler. 4. Leave covers on. 5. Call us if E6 returns.
The second temperature sensor circuit reads as a short, so Thermistor 2 is shorted.
E2 reports Thermistor 2 open, and E6 reports it shorted. Each describes a different condition of the same sensor.
Keep a thermometer inside. If the temperature holds, you have time to book. If it climbs, move your wine and call.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
