What E0 means

On U-Line wine coolers such as the 5 Class UHWC524 and the 2000 Series 2224DWR, E0 reports that Door 1, the upper door, is open. The control has not sensed that door in its closed position, and the display holds E0 until it is shut. Door 2, the lower door, reports as E9, so the code tells you which door to close first.

Common causes of E0

  • The upper door was left ajar
  • Something props the upper door off the cabinet
  • The upper gasket is out of position
  • The upper door switch does not read closed
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Close the upper door and check the latch. 2. Move bottles that sit against the door. 3. Press the upper gasket flat along the opening. 4. Check that the cabinet is level. 5. If E0 stays with the door shut, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • An E0 that stays on with a shut door is a sensing matter
  • Warm air reaches your wine while the door is not sealed
  • You see a written price first, and our work has a 30-day warranty
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

E0E0 questions
Which door does E0 mean?

E0 means Door 1, the upper door. The lower door uses E9, so each code names its own door.

Does E0 clear by itself?

Yes, once the upper door is closed and the control senses it. No reset is needed.

Does E0 mean a sensor has failed?

Not on its own. E0 is a door reading. A thermistor problem shows as E1 to E3 for open readings and E5 to E7 for shorted readings, so E0 points only at the upper door.
