What 12 means

On U-Line Outdoor Collection nugget ice makers such as the UONB115 and UONP115, 12 appears when the water level is low. Not enough water is reaching the reservoir for the machine to keep making nugget ice. The number shows without an E in front. Ice output slows or stops, and 12 stays lit until water returns.

Common causes of 12

  • Supply water to the reservoir is reduced
  • The shutoff valve or supply line is restricted
  • The level reading stays low while the reservoir is not full
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Open the water shutoff valve all the way. 2. Look along the supply line outside for a kink, a freeze or a loose fitting. 3. Confirm water runs at a nearby tap. 4. Switch the unit off for one minute, then on. 5. If 12 persists, call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Outdoor supply lines are exposed, so the cause is rarely in the machine alone
  • Running without enough water strains the parts that make ice
  • We quote first in writing, with a 30-day warranty on our work
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

1212 questions
What does 12 mean on my outdoor nugget ice maker?

It reports low water: the reservoir is not getting enough to keep nugget ice production going. The display stays on 12 until the level recovers.

Should I look at the supply line?

Yes. On an outdoor installation the line runs through exposed areas, and a kink or restriction is easy to spot. Check it, then call us if 12 stays on.

How is 12 different from E13?

12 is a water supply reading. E13 reports an auger problem, which concerns the part that moves ice, not the water level.
